NC Steel Buildings Dealer & Site Prep
One call for the building and the ground it sits on — design, grading, gravel pad, concrete slab and foundation.

Authorized Dealer
AllTrax is a proud, authorized dealer for NC Steel Buildings.
We're excited to say AllTrax is now an authorized dealer for NC Steel Buildings. If you've been putting off a new shop, garage, barn or equipment building because you didn't want to deal with three different companies, that problem just went away.
Here's how it usually goes without us: you pick out a building, a site company preps the ground, somebody else pours the pad, and if any of those pieces don't line up (wrong pad dimensions, drainage nobody planned for, a slab that isn't rated for what's going on top of it), you're the one stuck sorting it out between three phone numbers. We sell the building, grade the site, pour the pad or slab, and build the footers it needs. NC Steel Buildings' own crew erects the structure once the pad's ready, and we handle the scheduling and logistics in between so you're not the one juggling two timelines.
Shop, garage, equipment building, barn or commercial structure — we'd like the chance to help you build it, from the ground up.
Why AllTrax
Why work with us on steel buildings
One point of contact, start to finish
You deal with us for the building, the ground underneath it, and the scheduling in between. We sell the building and handle site prep and logistics; NC Steel Buildings' own crew erects it, and we make sure the site's ready when they show up.
We know what's actually under a steel building
A metal building puts real weight on a handful of footers instead of spreading it evenly the way a house does. We grade and pour to what your building needs, not a generic slab.
Design help, no pressure
We'll walk you through sizing, layout and options and tell you honestly what fits your property and your budget, including when a smaller building or a gravel pad instead of concrete is the better call.
Local, and we'll still be here
If something needs a second look after the fact, you're calling a company down the road, not an 800 number.
Scope of work
Our steel buildings services
Everything below is handled by our own crew and equipment.
Building design & sales
Sizing, layout and options through the NC Steel Buildings line: shops, garages, equipment buildings, barns and commercial structures.
Site preparation & grading
Clearing and grading the building footprint to a level, properly drained pad before anything else happens.
Gravel pads
Compacted stone base for buildings that don't need a full concrete floor: barns, equipment storage, open-sided structures.
Concrete slabs
Reinforced slabs poured to the thickness and load your specific building needs, not a one-size-fits-all four inches.
Footers & foundations
Footers sized and placed where the building's frame actually carries load.
Utility & drainage prep
Trenching for power and water, and grading so runoff moves away from the building instead of pooling against the slab.
Erection scheduling & logistics
We coordinate the delivery and erection schedule with NC Steel Buildings' crew and make sure the pad, footers and site access are ready when they arrive to put it up.

Answers
Steel Buildings questions
What is NC Steel Buildings?
NC Steel Buildings designs and manufactures pre-engineered metal buildings — shops, garages, barns, equipment buildings and commercial structures. As an authorized dealer, we help you spec and order a building, then handle the site work it needs to actually go up.
Do you put the building up, or just prep the site?
We sell the building and handle everything on the ground: grading, gravel pad or concrete slab, footers, utilities. NC Steel Buildings' own crew erects the structure itself. We coordinate the schedule and make sure the site's ready for them when they show up, so you're not managing two separate timelines.
Do I need a permit for a metal building in NC?
In almost every case, yes. A building permit at minimum, and an erosion control or grading permit if you're disturbing much ground to put it up. Requirements vary by county, so we'll tell you what applies once we know the size and where the property is.
Should I pick the building first or get the site graded first?
Talk to us about both at the same time if you can. The building's footprint and footer layout affect how the pad gets graded, and your site's slope and access can affect what building size and door placement actually make sense. Doing them together means you're not finding out after the pad is poured that the building doesn't fit the way you pictured it.
What's the advantage of using one company for the building and the site work?
Mostly that nothing falls in the gap between two contractors. If the pad ends up the wrong size, or the drainage wasn't planned around the building's footprint, you're usually the one holding both phone numbers trying to figure out whose mistake it was. When it's one company, that's on us to get right the first time.
